Kiss

My daughter loves horses, even donkeys!  However, she is allergic to them.  What a cruel twist of fate.  Thank heavens for antihistamines!  This picture was taken in Trim, Ireland.  Such a beautiful country.

I thought this would be the perfect layout for the Inkido August sketch challenge.

xoxo's August challenge is "heavy metal" this month.  I have used a metal hanger, metal pocket watch and an ornate metal piece between the flowers.

Supplies:  Papers, Graphic 45,  Bird Song Collection, "Harmony", Tropical Travelogue Collection, "Oceania, Prima Marketing, Nature Garden Collection, "Midsummer's Eve".

Red Carpet Studio  challenge is to use stitching. I am slowly getting use to using my sewing machine on paper.  So I really appreciated this challenge.
Thank you for stopping by to see what the papers are saying today!  I always enjoy your visits.

Here is another layout finished for my daughter's wedding album.  I felt the color challenge over at That's so Cute fit this layout perfectly.

Love this smile

Love this smile!

Katie fell and bumped her mouth
on the landing to our apt. in
Germany.  The dentist there said her baby
Teeth were fine.  Several years later back in
The States our family dentist x-ray
Her teeth for the first time and found
the nerves in the upper front teeth had died
and could possibly cause nerve damage to
her permanent teeth.  An oral surgeon
removed them and to our great joy said
her permanent would be fine.  The tooth
fairy was very generous that evening!

This is what my journal entry which I tucked in-between the papers since it was quite lengthy. But it a time in my young daughter's life I will never forget.  She was born during the Chernobyl disaster in Europe and so everything that has befallen her health wise we chalk up to nuclear fall out!  lol!!

So here is my entry for Once Upon A Sketch August challenge.

Here is the yummy color pallet from My Sweet Earth which inspired the fun summer look of this layout.
 [AugustCreatetoLiveChallenge%255B4%255D.jpg]
For this layout I use the lovely Prima Marketing Divine collection.  It is so soft and girly.  This is another photo of my daughter where the background was so nondescript that I decided to just crop the heck out of it!
And my last inspiration for this layout came from Archi-scraps with this lovely building front loaded with gorgeous window boxes filled with flowers.
Notice the truck beside Katie filled with flowers.  What a perfect vehicle to park outside this house!
This bouquet is a lovely mix of Prima Marketing and petaloo flowers.

I felt the papers, flowers, chipboards and flourishes where just so gorgeous on their own that to do any other technique on this layout would just be a waste.  I hope you agree.

Thank you for stopping by to see what the papers are saying today.  I always enjoy your visits and hope one day to see you as a follower of mine.  Have a great weekend!

Laughter, joy, puppy!!

Awwww, what a wonderful day especially since the headache has gone away!

This young man won my puppy's heart on his first visit to meet his girlfriend's parents.  Since then my daughter has married this wonderful lad and he is now in Afghanistan.   I thought this layout would cheer my daughter up and hopefully bring a smile to her pretty face.

This is my first entry with sketchabilities using their wonderful August sketch.

I wanted to keep this layout fresh and light to shine on the subject matter...Puppy kisses!!  I have dabbled today into the world of mixed media.  I texturized the paper with gesso and blue paint that I thinned down then took a tooth brush and spritzed it on the paper.
I felt the page needed movement to coincide with picture.  Don't you just love baker's twine and washi tape!!  Such fun elements that really add life to the page.
Thank you for stopping by to see what the papers are saying today.  I always love your visits and hope you will become a follower of mine.  Til next time....

An Island Jewel

My Katie loves the islands.  So for her junior year of high school she decided to spice up her island t and wear a flower in her hair for more authenticity.  lol!!  Well, thank you Graphic 45 for your Tropical Travelogue collection.  These papers are just perfect for my layout.
August Sketch Challenge Here is the sketch I used even though I use artistic license on this one.

Berry71blue challenges us to use textiles this month.  I use burlap which to me brings in that island feel.

I just loved creating small vignettes around the page of island life.  Fish in the sea, lovely girls in the jungles, and beach babes.  There is even a mountain up there on top.

I hide my journaling on this tag.

Well thank you for stopping by to see what the papers are saying today.  I always enjoy your visit.

Love to dance

Mt. Vernon is so lovely!  I hope to revisit it this fall.  Nothing like having a chitty chat with Martha on the veranda.  lol

I used My creative sketches July sketch for this layout.

Can you guess what papers I use?  Why yes, the ever lovely Graphic 45 Bird Song collection.  How perfect for this era.  Back then they did a lot of importing from the far east.

Well, unfortunately today I have a really bad headache so this will be short.  Thank you for stopping by to see what the papers are saying today.  I am always delighted in your visit and would love to see you again.

Paris

In 2002 I started my dabbling s into the world of scrap booking.  I was a pup, a novice, but I feel in love with the craft.  Imagine the Eiffel tower paper bare unadorned, now slap your photo square in the middle and call it happy!  Oh, yes this was a work of art! lol!! I found this wonderful work of art going through my old albums.  Wow! I asked myself, what was I thinking!  So here is Paris revisited.

I had this velum bicycle in my stash for ages!  Parisians are always on foot or bicycle so I just had to add it.
The dress was a peacock stamp I inked.
Pop dots elevate the bicycle for dimension.
Current Challenge Scrap Africa had the perfect sketch for this layout makeover.

Thank you for stopping by to hear what the papers are saying today.  I always enjoy your visits!
