Tags for Tando Creative

It is my pleasure to share with you these two tags I created with Tando Creative products.
The color scheme this month is a wonderful combo of pink, orange and green.  The first thing I thought of was spring.  This is my tribute to the famous book "The Secret Garden".   The leaf at the top also pulls out to reveal a card.
I used these beautiful leaf and clock hand chipboard to create a pullout to reveal a secret place to write a note to that special someone.
I clipped off an end of the leaf chipboard to create a pull for the card hidden in the garden above.
I first applied a coat of gesso to the chipboard pieces before I chalked over them.  I wanted to give them an earthy feel as if you just found them lying in the garden.

I just had to throw in this steampunk tag since I had such fun using Andy Skinner's Incognito stencil, and these fabulous chipboard cogs and clock hand.  I hope you will check out my blog for more details and close ups.  http://kathsdesigns.blogspot.com
For this tag I layered three varying size tags and then used the Incognito stencil to masking all along the left side.  For the cogs and clock hand I first applied a coat of gesso and then use a painting technique to achieve the the metallic look.  The inside of the heart is a cluster of beads.
I made an easel stand using the cog and clock hand chipboard.  Beads where included in the center of the clock hand.  So often we have these beautiful creations and don't have a way to display them.  I hope you have enjoyed you visit and look forward to seeing you again.

Joy of friendship

It is hard for me to believe that one year ago this month I started this blog.  I have learned so many new and exciting things in the world of scrapping over the year and I believe my work reflects it.  That is the beauty of blogging and scrapping we never stay stagnant.  So I say thank you to all of my followers.  I hope I have in some small way help you on your scrapping journey as you have helped me on mine.

Sketchbook 365 has this awesome sketch challenge and I just couldn't resist.
It is a very compact layout filled with goodies.
As many of my delightful followers know I love Graphic 45 papers.    Here I have used their Typography collection.

Zva provided the beautiful blue jewels that grace the page.
Berry 71 bleu provided me with this fabulous mood board to work with on my color combo.

Well thank you each and everyone of you for stopping by to see what the papers are saying today.  I hope I see a few more followers join me in this upcoming new year on my blog.

auf dem Land

Good morning scrapbooking fans!  Today I have a tribute to my daughter's Oma and Opa to share.  Both grandparents have past since the taking of this picture.  This was Oma's golden confirmation anniversary back in 1990.

The title of this layout is "auf dem Land".  They worked a family farm which has been handed down through the generations for nearly two hundred years.
The Color Room has a new color palette which was perfect for this layout.
Picture
I thought this dairy farm receipt was a perfect note card to record events of the day.  I am not a very wordy person.  lol!
The blue from this palette is found in the string that pulls the page back.

Artastic's challenge this month was for us to use wood and/or a feather.
The hinges are made of wood and left untouched to give a rustic feel and the feather is beside the bird cage.

Thank you so much for stopping by to see what the papers are saying today.  Your visits are always a bright spot in my day.

Hello!

I love "whimsy"!  This was such a fun challenge for me.  I took this photo of my daughter while touring Powerscourt in Ireland.  They had fantastic gardens.

Scrap Around The World provide and awesome mood board this month.
This mood board is filled with such soft sweet colors.  So romantic!  I do believe I used just about every color shown.  lol!  8)  I made a lace boarder,  used an arrow, stamped in some sweet pink flowers,  made sure to include a couple of bows and a bird for good measure.  I even put wings on my daughter!
I soften the background with white mist spray.
The sign has a soft coat of gesso and the arrow was lightly brushed with blue chalk.
I just love this beautiful golden ruffle by Webster Pages

I can't thank you enough for stopping by to see what the papers are saying today.  Have a great weekend!

Mom & daughter

The majority of our days during our trip to Ireland were bathed in warm sunshine.  Occasionally a morning mist would crop up and we would don our rain jackets.  This day, Monday, we jumped a bus out of Dublin and travel to visit Castletown House.  We managed to visit on the one day a week that it is closed!! But, I think this picture makes up for the disappointment.

These papers are from the new Graphic 45 Topography collection.  I only had the 8x8 pad so the back ground paper, which I think coordinates well with this, is from the Bird Song collection.
C'est Magnifique  has this lovely sketch which I used.

Rochelle Spears color challenge for this month was perfect fit for this layout.

Thank you for stopping by to see what the papers are saying today.

Toto!!

Toto!!

I had such fun creating this layout with Graphic 45 papers new and old.  My daughter, Katie decided that for last years costume party she would dress up as Dorothy would look after a tornado in Kansas.  She had a stick in her hair and a branch through her mid section.  Toto, of course, was missing from his leash.  This layout was to show the topsy turvy world created by a tornado.  The wizard's balloon was sucked up into a vortex ready to spit out to the other side into the land of Oz.

I took a look back through Inkido 's past layouts and thought I would remake it for this month's challenge.  I used like colors and the sketch is also the same except my has a lot more "stuff" in it. lol!

I also used Scrap our Stash tic tac toe challenge and incorporate an arrow, chipboard and twine.

I hope you have had as much fun viewing this layout as I had in making it.

Life

You know....I am absolutely the worst when it comes to creating layout titles.  lol!  Thats just so cute has this color challenge this month that just threw me into a loop.  I love the colors but how to create something different from what I have been producing was to be my challenge.  Here are the colors.
Here is my entry.  I hope you like it.

I combined two chalk colors to create the purple shadowing since I didn't have any purple.  Misted with black spray to give what I hope is a haunting effect.
Thank you for stopping by to see what the papers are saying today.  I always love it when you come by for a visit.

BeWitching

I simply adore Graphic 45's Steampunk Spell collection!  I had such an awesome time putting this layout together.

OUAS  challenges us to use the journey in our project.  My journal post is on the tag at the upper right hand of this layout.  It reads, "Your journey in life has taken you up, up and away soaring to new heights!  I am so proud of you and your accomplishments.  Love, Mom"  Here is their sketch for the month of October.

I added lots of close ups.
I am also entering this into Berry71blue's October mood board.

The ladies over at G45 always wear period hats to their events.  So, I decided to give Katie a hat, added a veil, bling and a flower.  I would love to have a life size hat like this!!
This collection comes with so many different elements that I went crazy adding bits and pieces here and there
Scrap it girl challenged us to use the colors found in our kitchen.  I just finished redoing my kitchen colors this month!  I was so excited to have it completed.  I had a fabulous designer from Pottery Barn over (this is a free service they offer!!) to pulled everything together for me.  So my chairs are the adobe color of the balloon, spells book etch.  The curtains are the blue found in the sky.  The walls are tan and grey found in the snip its.  It looks amazing!

I am so happy you stopped by to see what the papers are saying today.  Hope the rest of your day is bewitching!
