A 1930's Lad

A 1930's Lad.

A row of banners gives more character to the piece.  The color choice gives it more of a boyish feel.
This is a picture of my father taken when he was just a lad.  I felt G45's Song Bird collection was the perfect choice for this layout.  It gives that old world feel and takes you back to an era long gone by.  My grandfather was an avid gardener so I choose to add a garden patch to this piece.

Well, last night as this layout sat on the display shelf it contemplated its design and found itself lacking.  So this morning it called out to me and said, "I need something more to frame this lad.  I searched for the perfect papers to add that certain somethin', somethin' to give him more life.  He is happy now!

This just in...."A 1930's Lad" was the random winner over at SCRAP THAT for the layer it on challenge!

I am entering this layout into the new just for boys blog site "About a Boy" challenge.

Playtime fun

http://scrapthat.ning.com/forum/topics/lotw-february-3rd?xg_source=activity

I created this layout for the Scrap That February "With Love" Sketch Challenge.
My inspiration was the sweet picture of my baby girl peeking out from under her blankie. I just love the soft greens and pinks.  Once again G45 was my go to paper selection.  Thanks for stopping by and taking a peek.  Wish me luck on the challenge!

odd

This was such a fun lay out to make.  I cut a section of the boarder in strips and then rolled them up to reveal more of the sticker.
Graphic 45 makes such fun papers.  They are so versatile.

Hubby works for telephone company and loves to have his picture taken in whatever phone booth we happen upon.  This one we found on one of our trips to Ireland.  I entered this layout in a Funtoolas challenge http://funtoolas.ning.com/  I won this challenge!!!

I have also entered ODD into

Challenge 24: Wood elements by The Paper Girls Challenge blog

Having been sick with Strep throat this past week my spirits were lifted after finding out I placed in the top three layouts at Stuck on U sketches!  I hope to start on a new layout soon.  Thanks for stopping by today!

#1 Christmas

# 1 Christmas

My daughter and her husband's first Christmas together.  Just like the peppermint candy lo they are filled with sweetness.  I thought this layout would be a wonderful candidate for C'est Magnifique January challenge.

Dear Santa, I can explain...
