Santa's elf

February is a month of hearts and flowers but in scrapbook time we are just getting around to finishing up those Christmas layouts.  Since Valentine's day is past I thought it safe to present this elf and get everyone in the mood for this years Christmas season.  I have already begun my shopping by the way!

This is my Feb. 15 entry to About a boy challenge using names

This is my son, Brendan.   This was his first Christmas with his family after many years of globe trotting.  We love to ham things up around our house.

Bon Voyage!

I find scrapbook challenges a wonderful motivator to get through those stacks of wonderful vacation photos and finally do something with them besides gathering dust in a drawer.  This was from our Alaskan cruise vacation.  It was both cold and wonderful!  I wound up breaking my little toe as I ran to the balcony tripping over my hubby's boot to see whales!  Spent several hours down in the medical clinic getting it set and some pain meds.  The rest of the cruise was via a wheel chair.

Below is the wonder C'est Magnifique sketch I used for this layout.  Wish me luck and thanks for stopping by and taking a peek.  You are awesome!

ENLIGHTENMENT

This picture of my beautiful sister and niece brought these Graphic 45 Bird Song papers to life.  This is my first time using gesso.  I wanted the viewer have the feel of a spring breeze blowing across the page.

I love the Geisha girl and look how her kimono blends into the branch the bird sits on.
I wanted to give the lanterns a dimensional feel.  My sister loves her garden and she often sits out on her beautiful patio and to soak in the gardens beauty.  Thank you for stopping by and taking a peek.  You are awesome!

I have entered this layout into two challenges.

L & K

OMG!!! but this page took forever.  I kept wanting to put flowers in place of the bow but the page folded its papers put on a pouty face and said "No".  I looked to the side of the table and found this cloth bow and asked, " well what about this?"  "Yes please, that will do nicely." Also, there is also fabric under the cherry blossoms that has embroidery stitching.   Journaling for this layout is found on the back this time.  (Katie and Eloise share a happy reunion)  So I present to you Love &Kisses.
Love & Kisses was selected as a layout that deserved to be spotlighted this week by Red Carpet Studio!

Happy Easter

Easter is on its way!  And this layout is on its way to My Creative Sketches January challenge. The hinges on this layout really work.  It opens up to display another photo and journaling. Today I feel like spring.  Yesterday I planted green onions and parsley in my garden.  Weather is warm, gentle rains are due later this week.  Thanks for stopping by and taking a peek.
