Baby it's cold outside

Hi!  today I am sharing a layout I created using these wonderful Bo Bunny papers and the Life, Paper, Scrapbook December sketch. I love this photo of Katie taken not far from our apartment in Germany.  She looked adorable all bundled up and ready for a romp in the woods.

Inkido's December challenge is to use snowflakes or stars.  Plenty of beautiful snowflakes here!
S.W.A.T 's  Drill 21 is to use a Christmas carol title.

Walking through the tulips!

This month I seem to be finding the perfect pictures from the past for these challenges which makes me happy.  This is a picture of my daughter when she was four.  She looks so happy here.  We lived in Germany at the time.  So beautiful.

May is my favorite time of the year.  Both my daughters and myself have birthdays in this month.  Yes, we are all bull headed but have huge hearts.
Since it is still spring time I wanted to give this layout an airy feel.  Light, spring buds and butterflies. The rain gently falling.  It truly was an amazing day.
 Cherry blossoms falling.
Here I used a stencil and used gesso for the polka dots that remind me of spring showers.

I used tons of pop dots to build my layers.
I gessoed and chalked this lovely Tando Creative leaves.

The color Room set the pallet for this layout with their last challenge of the year.

Once Upon A Sketch  was the spring board for my layout with their last sketch of the year.

Sugar and Spice

Yesterday the postwoman stopped by early in the morning and delivered a package or two to my surprise.  One was a box of Webster goodies I had order from their warehouse sale.  I started to put a layout together immediately!  I have very few pictures of my children growing up so each one is precious to me.  The quality and lighting is not good on very many of them. They are the "JOY" of my life.  These papers just seem to bring this picture to life.  I introduce to you, Sugar and Spice.

These colors matched my children's outfits perfectly!  I am so proud of all three of them I could burst.
On the circular die cuts I inked the edges in pink.  Under the lace is also inked pink.  The houses and cup cakes were give a hearty helping of glitter.  The top house was given pearl swirls for smoke and beneath the second die cut is white yarn with long threads.

I tucked my journaling under the another card.  I just felt it would make the layout to heavy to show it.
Thank you so much for stopping by to see what the papers are saying today.  I always enjoy your visits and comments.  I hope to see you become a follower of mine.  Merry Christmas ya'll!

Berry 71 blue 's December challenge is to use the word joy and journaling.

I used C'est Magnifique sketch for this challenge.

How to build a snow angel

My first layout for the month of December is all about snowflakes!  Even though my daughter was married in June she still makes for a perfect snow angel.  And yes to those keen eyes out there this is a bit different than the links snap shot on the challenge sites.  Sometimes a layout will nag me and I just must readjust!  I hope you find it more appealing this way.  I sure do!

Here is the base of my project. I do believe this is a Bo bunny paper but it has been in my stash a very long time and the information was cut off.  Brown card stock is the base and the next layer I used a lace punch on both  sides.  I used a coordinating strip down one side and some ecru lace for add dimension.
Here are all the add on"s" minus a few I later found and used.
 Now I start the layering.
I used nearly a full box of K & Company snowflakes for the veil.

Here I used a Tando Creative chipboard clock hand as a hinge. Zva pearls were added for flare. Tando is having a "Let's sparkle" challenge over at their site.  Please check it out!

More Zva pearl swirls cascade down the veil.

Lace was layered in from top to bottom.
She is my perfect snow angel.

Inkido was my inspiration for using snowflakes.
Scrap Around The World  has this lovely mood board which inspired me with the colors and the lovely lady.  I wanted to use the frames in a unique way by making the snowflakes the frame.

Lasting Memories  is also all about snowflakes this week.
Well, it is late here in Texas where the temperature has dropped below freezing and the rains fall gently on the land reeking havoc with the roads.  I pray that everyone who has to out in this weather stays safe.  Thank you for stopping by to see what the papers are saying today.

Tando Creative "So happy together"

This is my final Tando Creative project for the month of November.  I had so much fun working on a painting technique that I used on the holly chipboard. This is a picture of my sister and I hamming it up with a life size nutcracker!

I first gathered up the items I would need to paint the chipboard.
For the first step I began by applying a coat of white enamel paint.  This is best for chipboard since it does not absorb into the chipboard as water colors do.  Let the enamel paint dry then apply a coat of shimmery camel glam by Tattered Angels.  You can apply it as thick or thin as you wish.
Now it is time to add color.  I started with this green fluid chalk.  Then I mix the green with a dark brown for the veining in the holly.  Finally I applied a final coat of chalk and added my red glitter for the berries.  Don't forget to color the edges!
A close up of the finished piece of holly.
You can see the flecks from the camel glam showing through the chalk.  It shimmers in person.
I also used this technique on the snow flakes.
I hope this inspires you to create your own beautiful project using these wonderful Tando Creative products.
Sketchbook 365 , this is their final sketch of the year.
Maja 's November mood board is all about Christmas!  I used some non traditional Maja papers from their Life in the Country collection for this layout.  I think they work perfectly for that Christmas"y" feel!
Inkido 's November challenge was to include thread, string or yarn.
Red Carpet Studio  has a Nutcracker Suite challenge going on now!  I'm in!

Thank you for stopping by to see what the papers are saying today.  I pray your holiday season will be bless with family, good friends,  love, laughter and joy.  God bless!

Fall Foliage

Eloise meeting a scare crow for the first time.  She was rather intimidated by it!  We had a grand time on our mini vacation to Arkansas at the beginning of the turning of the leaves.  Such fun!

Now Papiery do and C'est Magnifique this page does not resemble the postage stamp left on you site.  I changed the back ground paper because the papers were screaming at me to do so.  They can get really bossy at times! lol  I did not know how to change it on your end.  I hope you enjoy what you see here today.  Welcome!

I found this new challenge blog Papiery do Scrapbooking and their challenge this month is about Autumn.  I did this layout for their challenge.

I used Maja Walking in the forest paper collection for the accents. I used C'est Magnifique sketch for my outline.

My idea for the Fall letters on top of the picture frame was to give it a barn shape appearance.

I interspersed leaves with crumpled and inked squares for the falling leaves we see in fall.
Well, thank you for stopping by to see what the papers are saying today.  I hope you enjoyed your visit.  Come again. soon.

Winter Joy

My daughter, Katie, loves horses even though she is allergic to them!  Thank goodness for antihistamines.  Let's Get Sketchy is hosting a challenge to grace the cover of their special Christmas edition.

I wanted to make this very wintery magical layout for this challenge.  The sketch is below.
H
I used this picture as my inspiration.

I rolled the bottom of this paper to add dimension and whimsy to the page.  The I wet a paint brush and add a dab of gesso then flick it around the page to give it a snow fall effect.
To me the season is bright and cheery filled with candies and cookies.  So I just had to add them in.

Material used:  Papers; dark green stock paper for the base,
We are memory makers Peppermint for the next layer.
Graphic 45 Nutcracker Suite paper collection next.
From my stash; candy canes, doilies and assorted chipboard pieces.
Thanks for stopping by to see what the papers are saying today.  I cherish you visits. Hope to see you soon as a follower.  Have a wonderful Thanksgiving this year.
