                 Valentine {Creative Embellishments DT)

My sister loves her four legged babies!  So, when she asked me to to take a portrait of her and her girls how could I refuse.  They make the perfect subjects for a Valentine's layout.  Just look at those sweet faces.

I find Creative Embellishments chippies and Graphic 45 pair beautifully together.  The stacking hearts and Bird Cage received a misting of Shimmerz Vibez Cold as ice then randomly rubbed with Tattered Angels Satchel to give the pieces a vintage feel.  Light peach pearls adorn the hearts and tiny pools of Robin's Egg glass glitter makes them shine.

I used two sets of fronds and a Flourish 4 (long Fronds and Fronds set 5)  which were embossed with Pearlustre Moonstone and Golden Pumpkin Blush.

Thank you for stopping by this fine day.  I hope I have inspired you to let your own creativity take flight!

Capture the Moment

Capture the Moment (Frosted Designs DT)

Friday's challenge this week is to Get Messy x2... Ink, paint, mists, molding paste, gesso (must use 2).   I went mixed media crazy!!  At least crazy for me!!  lol

I took this picture of my son during a health event for children when we lived in Germany.  My idea for the layout was to show time stopped just for a moment.

I started with a lovely pale blue and white polka dotted paper.  Next, I laid a polka dotted stencil on the paper and rubbed some metallic blue berry gelato on then continue by paint-able texture paste.  This gives you a wonderful multicolor look.  I took a stamp and dabbed orange ink onto it.  They look like large paint splashes.  Finally I misted some light blue paint followed by painting many layers and splashing.  Now I used another stamp with black ink for a little drama.  The rings received a coat of guava dimensional crystal.  The gears and photo frame were sprayed black.  The final step was adding beads in a couple of the rings.

Here you can see the beads.

I hope I have inspired you to let your creativity take flight!  Have a wonderful crafty weekend!

Happy Valentine's day (Creative Embellishment's DT)

The big day of romance, hearts and flowers will soon be here.  But let's keep the love flowing all year long!  I simply adore this Fancy Pants paper collection called Be.Loved.  It was the perfect choice for this layout.  Even better look at these heart frames from Creative Embellishments!

I applied two colors of ink (Worn Jeans and Old Road) to the three tiered scalloped hearts.  Then I applied a generous layer of crackled paint on top for a weathered look.  The three thin hearts plus the Fronds received a coat of white glossy enamel.  The key has two different gold paints applied to it.

A few close ups.

I wish each and everyone one of you a very happy heartfelt Valentine's Day!

                "Dream"  ( Creative Embellishments DT)

Every dream begins with a dreamer.  I have had this canvas in my stash just waiting for the perfect inspiration.  I think of February as a month of day dreams. With Creative Embellishments I found the perfect pieces for this dream catcher.  I started with this lacey doily and then followed with Flourish ClockChain Boarder,  Ivy SprayTwig Frame with fall leaves,  Birds.  You can see the soft pink ombre affect throughout the layers which I created with several different pink paint mists.

feb Please be inspired by at least one element in the photo and the twist is use an ombre effect anywhere on your project. For example on your background, on a chippie piece, or layered papers…etc for the Creative Embellishments challenge.

Steps for creating this canvas
1.  Apply a coat of gesso over the entire canvas and to all of the chipboard pieces ( lacey doily, Flourish ClockChain Boarder,  Ivy SprayTwig Frame with fall leaves,  Birds).  I only used the fall leaves from the Twig frame set.

2.  Apply some molding paste to the leaves, bird and  the flourish part of the clock.  Allow to dry

3.   Start gluing the chipboard to the canvas in this order; doily, chain, ivy(just the bottom portion and apply it to the bottom of the canvas), clock and last but not least the bird.

4. Begin misting the entire piece with Shimmeringz Baby's Breath let dry then taking a paint brush dab the doily with Spritz Cotton Candy and part of the clock. Continue by using the darker pinks on the clock and the flourish tail only.

5.  Glue on your flowers and give them a good coat of gesso.  Glue on the angel resin and mist with Baby's breath.  Finish by adding some pixie dust on the flowers  edge of the clock.
