Lazy Days

                     Lazy Days (Creative Embellishment's DT)

Greetings everyone Kathleen here with a layout I hope will make you yearn for summer!

This photo of my son when he was a mere tot was taken out in the country which inspired the layout design.  In the store I found this awesome Chicken Wire 6"x6" panel.  I cut out two pieces and gave each of them different treatments.  The upper piece was sprayed with heidi swapp color shine in mustard then lightly and randomly touched with Ingvild Bolme coldsfoot petal.  The bottom piece was first lightly gessoed then inked yellow followed by the spray.  I wanted the layout to have the illusion of sunshine and shade.  The Flourish Dragonfly was rubbed with Art Anthology
guava stain which would pick up the color of my son's hair.  The frame was left in it's natural state.  The word fun was lightly sprayed with with mustard color shine.  Now the pipes and faucet were first given a light coat of gesso then painted with Shimmerz Barely Blue Dazzelerz.

I had a lot of fun playing with stencils, paints, bling and things on this layout.  One thing I did learn in creating this layout is to choose a thicker paper for the mixed media other wise you have strong waves rolling along those areas.  I see them as heat waves here.  lol!!  Here are a few close ups.

Thank you for stopping by today.  I hope you have been inspired.  Check out our monthly challenge there are a few days left to get your entry in.  The store is constantly updating and adding to their inventory.  Stop by and check it out!

                                    A day to create

Last week I didn't touch my craft table.  By the weekend I just couldn't keep away and set out to create something, anything so I hit the blog challenges for inspiration.  Here is the results!

My first Frosted Designs kits arrived in the mail filled so tons of goodies.  For this layout I used the "We are Family" kit.  I started with the Tim Holtz doily stencil and texture paste.  Next I applied a couple of coats of walnut stain followed by various Shimmerz paints and products to deepen and enhance the background.  I also applied the walnut stain to this gorgeous Creative Embellishments fence piece.  I did a bit of fussy cutting with another piece of the kit's papers and added them to the garden.

This is a sweet picture of my grandmother as a child standing outside by a rose bush.  She is holding her hands behind her back.  I know, I know, it really does look like she is armless!  lol!

             Time Flies (Creative Embellishment's DT)

I had this lovely Prima Marketing paper in my stash for over a year just waiting for the right inspiration.  Creative Embellishments have these incredible Wings, gears 1 1/2", Heart and this Time flies photo frame and add to it this awesome photo of my great grandparents and we have a winning layout!

I left the Photo frame in it's natural state.  It set the tone for the old time photo.  For the wings I began by inking them black then applying a black composite embossing powder followed by a touch of Shimmerz gold paint and finishing it off with flecks of white paint.  The heart was given a light touch of Shimmerz gold paint.  The gear was a mixed bag of embossing and paint.

The background is a mixture of stenciling then applying pink, gold and walnut colors.  Some were splashed on, others were given a mist of water then allowed to run down the page.

Thank you for stopping by and taking a peek.  Stop by the store and check out all the fabulous new items.  I also hope this will inspire you to join in on the fun of our monthly challenge!

Thank you for stopping by my blog today, and for the sweet comments.  I always enjoy our visits.

Kiss me, I'm Irish  (Creative Embellishment's DT)

                                     Kathleen White

March is always a special time of year because  Spring starts, St. Patrick's Day and my son's birthday make it a time for celebration. So naturally I was inspired by the Irish elements.   Over in the store  I found these sweet clover clumps to use as my flourishes which I inked green and them stamped on top.  There is also a large selection of words sets in the store.  I inked my word a warm orange as a contrast to the green. I also inked my butterfly orange.  I hope you will join in on the fun with this month's challenge!   Don't forget your green this St. Paddy's Day!
'Twist -Add a flourish to your project.'  Creative Embellishment's inspiration picture plus use a flourish!

Thank you for stopping by and taking a peek.  Have a very happy St. Patrick's Day.
