Beach Babes

Beach Babes

My Aunties came for a visit to the deep south.  My sister and I took them to Gulf port beach in Mississippi.  We had such a fun time!

By now ya'll know what my favorite scrapbook papers are....that's right G45!  This layout is no exception.  I embellished with G45 stickers etc. I had actually done this page several years ago.  The base colors are tan and white card stock.  But then Scrap for help came up with a challenge using burlap.  I couldn't resist grabbing this page and taking it to the next level!.

In the Garden

In the Garden
I used the roll technique her to create the secret garden.  The bird knows where the key is hidden that goes to the gate lock.
I found this tag that resembles an old fashion book check out card for the journaling.  Look who is keeping an eye on the lost key!  I took this picture of my girls in our spring garden.  The leaves are just barely visible on the trees.
Thank you for stopping by and taking a peek.  You are always welcome here.

My 3 Angels

original layout

My 3 Angels

This month at Scrap That we were challenged to take a one of our earlier layouts and update it.  I cherish this formal photo of my three children when they were so very young.  My oldest daughter was asked to be a flower girl in a friend's wedding.   This is my update.
I took one of the cards from the g45 Songbird collection and cut out the birds.  I then put pop dots under it to give it dimension.
The journaling found on the original is now rolled up and will be place in one of the curls of the layout.
I will be entering this into the March challenge over at

Little Darlings

Little Darlings....That's right I am a little darling being held by my older brother.  I have been waiting for a long time trying to figure out the perfect layout for this cherished childhood portrait. Graphic 45 came along with this collection of papers and ta da here it is!
I decided to vary the lengths of the ribbon ends to give the illusion of motion.  The ribbon running along the banner is also loose to show motion as if a gentle breeze is blowing lifting the butterflies ever higher.  I curled strips from the checkered paper to give the page more life.  The beautiful Petaloo blooms provide a slopping garden taking the viewers eyes from one child to the next until you spy the the two little darlings in the window.  The journaling is on the back side.  It reads: "My brother, Tom, left this earth to soon.  But I can always find him in this window to my heart.  I miss you big brother".  So as you can see this was a very special moment in my life to have this portrait of us taken together.

Believe in yourself

Those early school years are all about an explosion of learning new things.  I felt the color palette should reflect excitement and optimism and curiosity found during those years.

I am entering this layout in http://berry71bleu.blogspot.com/2013/03/march-challenge-you-color-my-world.html.  This month they challenged us to use paint.  I have never done this before and thought what fun!

family hug

I am putting a family scrapbook together this year.  It will include as many members as I can find photos of today.  This picture was taken back in the 1960's, mini skirts and all.  So here is my grandma, aunt, uncle, cousins and my siblings.  We don't get together very often anymore so this is a very special picture for me.

I just love to put a grouping of embellishments together on a page to give interest.  This page just makes me think of spring!

Stingray

Stingray City.   I coned my sister into going to swim with the stingrays.  I wound up using her as a pole to escape them as they swam around our legs.  Who's the scared y cat now!   ME

This is a double page layout I did and am entering into http://shopscrapmuch.blogspot.ca/2013/03/sketch-y-friday-and-winner.html

St. Patrick's Day

What a special month this is for me.  My son, Brendan, was born in the month of March and in keeping with our Irish heritage has a beautiful Irish name.  This year he will wed an Irish lass in Ireland!  I am so proud and excited for them both.  This picture was taken in Trim, Ireland.  I wanted this page to reflect then never ending shades of green found on the fair Isle.

There are plenty of buttons to be found on this layout both chipboard and metal!  Plus the wheels on the zeppelin are metal!

I have entered this layout in the March Scrap That sketch challenge.
