Happy Thanksgiving Day

            Happy Thanksgiving Day {Creative Embellishment}

Happy Thanksgiving everyone!  The holidays are all about family whether near or far we always hold them close in our hearts.  So I thought I would share with you this old family photo of my father(wearing the Indian head feather), my grandmother and her sisters, their dad and my aunt as a baby on his lap.

I used two incredible Creative Embellishment chippies.  For the Doily Frame I simply applied a coat of brown ink to intensify the natural color.   The Fall Leaves which are tucked into the flowers where simply inked green.  The Happy Thanksgiving Day title was given a light coat of brown ink then I softly stroked the tips of the title words with Shimmerz Meet me @ Sunset Inklingz.

A few close ups to enjoy.

The papers are from the Graphic 45 Eerie Tales collection.  They are so versatile.  I used multiple layers and distressing.  Hope you enjoyed what you see!!

Windows to my world

                            Windows to my world

Welcome to my world all!  I have been hoarding these gorgeous neutral toned papers for a very long time just waiting for the perfect inspiration.  Creative Embellishments  have these window Chipboard pieces and inspiration struck.  I love my daughters including the four legged variety, nature and adventure but most of all family.  These are the things that inspire me.  More about the pictures are written on the back.

Here are some close ups of the mixed media treatment I did on this page which include stamping, painting, distressing etc.

This beautiful pink flower vine adds just the right amount of color to pick up pieces of color in the photos.  It also gives the unexpected element found in nature.

Tucked into the layers are little nests made of cheese clothe that I sopped up the residual paint with from the windows and paint palette.  I sprinkled some colored beads for added texture and hint of pink color into the nests.

Here you can see the window titles (7 Dots Studio, Ninth Wave stickers) which read "family together forever".
Thank you for stopping by and I hope to see you as a follower one day soon.

                                         London, England

A wonderful Fall greeting to you all!   Kathleen here with a  new layout I created for Creative Embellishments.  My daughter, Katie, and I visited London this summer.  We found a concrete bench with this adorable book cover of the back how apropos!

I wanted to give this layout a the feel of a city.  I used the Distressed Plaid set 2 rubber stamp  to create the bottom border.   Under the lions (reference to Trafalgar Square) I used the Grunge Icicle border stamp  in red.  These stamps are sooooo incredibly versatile!!   I love them!!  You will be see a lot more of them in the future.  They are simply must haves!!

I adore these flourishes!!  This is Flourish 15 which received first a  layer of pasted ink, then random touches of bolivian blue Silks, followed by spritzing of Shimmerz Vibez sunset strip and Spritz truffle.  It gave it that wonderful grunge feel.

Finally a close up of the flower arrangement which gives other more English flavor from Savile Row tailoring with the scissors then shoes for walking around and tea cup and pot.  I hope you have enjoyed this layout and I can't tell you how much I appreciate your visit.  Tata for now!  Kath

Creative Embellishments November Challenge

November is the month of giving thanks.

The twist this month is - What are you thankful for

I am thankful for newly fallen leaves!

Here you can see the lovely butterfly stamp I used.

Above is the inspiration photo.

Autumn is my favorite season of the year!  When alking amongst the trees I am thankful for the newly fallen leaves.  They are magical as they flutter to the ground.  The Fall Leaf set received a light coat of green ink and touched with Shimmerz Golden Wheat.  The Mantle Steampunk time piece  is from the Steampunk collection.  I turned it upside down used a paper flower behind the clock for added interest , then I used several different paints and glazes to get just the right fall colors as seen in the inspiration photo.

Thank you for stopping by and I hope you will join us this month at Creative Embellishments
