What a wonderful day this was. My son had just completed his induction into the Foreign Service. My mother and I were invited to the ceremony and spent a long weekend with my son before he was leave for his first assignment in Ireland. We decided to forgo D.C. and travel a bit further out and visit the beautiful Mt. Vernon estate.
