We are so happy
A very happy Monday morning to you all! Kathleen here to share a new layout I created with some inspirational papers from the Robin's Nest Store! I have been waiting to scrap this picture of my sweet Eloise and myself sitting in the Texas Blue Bonnets for a couple of years now. This gorgeous The Robin's Nest-Khaki Glitter cardstock, and it truly does glitter, was a perfect background to create my long awaited layout.
To start my design I began by tracing lightly around a doily then came back using a stencil and mask to create my design. I repeated on the side of the paper. I covered the paper in a thin coat of gel medium to prevent the paints from soaking into the paper.
I selected this neutral Khaki Glitter cardstock paper with tiny flecks of gold sprinkled all over the paper. The paper has a more greenish tint rather than grey as seen in the store. Simply divine! It has a nice weight to it that hold up to any paints or mixed media you throw at it and believe me I threw a lot of mixed media at it! lol!! I cut out several cards from the Wedding Cut Outs Cardstock and arranged them as shown below covering them with a thin coat of gesso.
Next I released my inner child and began to paint! Such fun OMG!! I started by applying green paint first then layering one blue after another down and around the masked area. When you are satisfied with the effect come back and flick some white and black paints around the perimeter to accent your creation. Then I came back and applied various stamps. Then finishing up with these gorgeous coordinating -Dew Drops, Safari randomly place around the layout.
I clipped a couple of sections from gina's designs-Collage Border Spring and embossed the butterfly and bird in blue and painted the honey comb green. I love to use dry wall tape for added texture as seen below.
Thank you for stopping by and having a peek. I always enjoy your visits and encourage you to let your own creativity take flight. Don't forget to check in and see what's happening with the Chattering Robin's here. Also, pop into the Robin's Nest store to see what is new here.
