Creative Embellishments October challenge

            Creative Embellishments October challenge

I am so thrilled to be a new member of the Creative Embellishment team!

Greetings my fellow scrapers.   Today I would like to share my take on this month's challenge. This picture is mainly neutral in color with pops of orange and black.  To me, it also had a lot of whimsical flair which I love!  The added twist this month is to use distressing.    I tore strips of papers to create layers representing the newly fallen leaves that blanket the ground. The clock, Pumpkin corner and Witch Set received very muted colors and then a once over with ShimmerZ truffle spray.  The Webs and cat were give a coat of black ink.  Finally I tucked large orange and golden leaves and the  black cat and spider webs for that pop of fall color.
I found this black paper with an eerie woodsy night scene on it in my stash pile along with these orange and golden patterned papers which are perfect for the layout I had in mind. I found this picture I took of my girls last fall in the woods.  It looks so much like the background paper doesn't it!
The main embellishment pieces received very neutral colors then sprayed with a coat of Shimmerz Vibez in truffle.  It gives a nice soft shinny surface.  The pictures doesn't give it justice.  I edged the pieces with Shimmerz Inklingz Meet me sunset to give the illusion of moonshine.  The cat and webs were inked in black and the webs received a dusting of black embossing powder.

Notice all of the leaves layering the the ground.  I used stripes of various patterned papers to create my own fall floor.  I distress the edges of the with scissors and the smaller stripes were torn.  The witches boots are tucked up under layers of different patterned papers and black netting.
Here is a close up of the clock and pumpkin corner piece.  I also use a couple of small gears in the layout to add a hint of purple.  After I sprayed the clock with Truffle I came back and put a coat of Blingz spiced cider.
Finally I tucked large orange and golden leaves and the  black cat and spider webs for that pop of fall color.  Below is a list of all the gorgeous fall Creative Embellishment chipboard pieces I used.
